Web of Stories (webofstories.com) began as an archive of video recordings of many of the greatest scientists of our time telling their life stories. As the number of speakers and stories grew, a web of related stories formed. After a while, we also started to invite famous people outside the field of science to tell their life stories.

Now, some of these videos can be viewed on your iPhone thanks to a new Web of Stories app that allows you to watch, download and share some of the fascinating stories which we have recorded.

In this app, Sydney Brenner tells his life story. Brenner was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2002. His joint discovery of mRNA, and, in more recent years, his development of gene cloning, sequencing and manipulation techniques along with his work for the Human Genome Project have firmly established his reputation as a pioneer in the field of genetics and molecular biology.
